Charel Murrell: A Champion for Change, Healing, and Empowerment!
Charel Murrell, a Boston native and founder of NuFound21 " New Undoings", stands as a beacon of hope and strength for those affected by familial sexual abuse and sexual exploitation. With over 12 years of hands-on experience in working with CSEC (Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children) prevention, and youth advocacy, Charel has touched the lives of hundreds across the nation. She holds a degree in Broadcast Media Technology and is on the verge of completing her Bachelor's of Art. With a Master's-level expertise in social work that allows her to serve others with compassion, knowledge, and empathy. Charel is also a certified personal fitness trainer and nutritional coach, reflecting her holistic approach to supporting mind, body, and spirit.
Charel's path to healing is rooted in her own lived experience—having survived familial sexual abuse and exploitation herself. It is through this profound experience that she has found the power to connect deeply with youth facing similar struggles. With an unwavering belief that recovery and transformation are always possible, Charel’s work is a testament to resilience and the unbreakable human spirit.
Throughout her career, Charel has facilitated more than 50 prevention groups nationwide, helping young people escape the devastating cycle of exploitation. Her work is not just theoretical; it’s born from the painful but powerful reality of her own life. She’s learned that each young person’s journey is unique, and her role is to walk beside them—providing guidance, resources, and hope.
Charel has worked alongside licensed clinical professionals in areas like CSEC prevention, eating disorders, substance abuse, mental health, and trauma recovery. She believes in a holistic approach—understanding that there’s no one-size-fits-all solution to the struggles youth face. Every youth she serves is treated as an individual, with respect for their story, their pain, and their power to heal.
One of Charel’s core beliefs is that "no one wakes up and chooses to be sexually exploited." These experiences often begin in early childhood, with abuse and neglect by trusted figures. These traumas distort their understanding of healthy relationships and leave them vulnerable to further exploitation. For Charel, this work is not just a job—it’s a lifelong commitment to dismantling these harmful cycles and providing the resources and support necessary for the youth to thrive.
Charel’s commitment to the youth she serves extends beyond prevention and education. She has been a fierce advocate for those who’ve been exploited, standing by them through forensic interviews, court appearances, and even tracking youth across state lines to ensure their safe return home. One powerful moment in Charel's career stands out: when she helped a trafficked youth return to safety from Florida. She was the only person the youth trusted during that time, and with law enforcement’s help, they brought her home. Today, that same youth is thriving and giving back to others in the same way Charel once helped her.
Charel firmly believes in the power of community involvement. She understands that the fight against sexual exploitation and abuse requires a team—each member playing a vital role in the healing process. By bridging gaps in resources and fostering meaningful connections, Charel has made it her life’s mission to create a world where no young person is left behind or forgotten.
Charel’s voice rings clear: she is dedicated to holding exploiters accountable and advocating for justice—not only for the youth she serves but for all victims of familial sexual abuse, and exploitation. She is a tireless advocate for change, and her work stands as a powerful reminder that healing is possible, and transformation is within reach.
Her story is one of survival, strength, and an unwavering belief in the power of community, love, and action. Charel is not just creating change—she is being the change.
