-Threads of Strength is the foundation of the program, focused on awareness, emotional safety, and self-expression.
This virtual group creates a supportive space where youth engage in guided sessions while working toward the creation of a personal piece of art that reflects their journey. Throughout each session, participants explore themes such as boundaries, safety symbols, identity, empowerment, and self-worth.

-In this phase, youth begin to build language around their experiences especially when words are difficult to find. Through creative exercises like sketching, journaling, and design concepts, participants express thoughts and emotions in ways that feel safe, structured, and accessible.

-Each session includes intentional check-ins, allowing youth to connect with themselves, strengthen their voice, and develop a deeper understanding of their experiences without pressure to disclose more than they are ready to share.

-This phase supports participants in creating meaning from their experiences while laying the emotional and creative foundation for the work they will continue to build throughout the program.

-Youth continue to build on themes of identity, empowerment, and self-expression as they transform their personal concepts into tangible pieces. This process reinforces patience, focus, and confidence, while providing a sense of ownership and accomplishment.

-Throughout this phase, participants receive guidance and mentorship within a survivor-informed, trauma-aware environment supporting continued healing, self-reflection, and growth as they move through the creative process.

-Through guided instruction and creative support, youth begin to see their inner experiences take physical form turning what was once unspoken into something visible, meaningful, and empowering.

-This phase bridges emotional expression with real-world skill development, preparing participants for deeper creative engagement and the final stage of the program.

-This phase prepares youth for a culminating fashion show, where they will present their work to caregivers, supporters, and the community.
The final runway event is more than a fashion show it is a powerful moment of visibility and recognition. It provides participants with the opportunity to share their journey, celebrate their progress, and be seen for their creativity, strength, and resilience.

-This closing experience honors not only what they have created, but who they are becoming.

    Enrollment Process

    • To ensure a safe and supportive experience for all participants, youth are enrolled through a thoughtful and trauma-informed process.
    • Step 1: Application
Participants begin by completing a registration form with basic information and interest in the program.
    • Step 2: Interview
Selected applicants are invited to a brief, trauma-informed conversation with a parent/guardian present. This allows us to get to know the youth, understand their needs, and ensure the program is a good fit.
    • Step 3: Acceptance
Families will be notified of acceptance and provided with next steps, including consent forms and program details.
    • Our goal is to create a safe, intentional space where each participant feels supported, respected, and ready to engage.
